Vienna: the city of dreams. But is it really all it’s cracked up to be? With its elegantly beautiful architecture, scenic parks, and mouthwatering food, what more could you possibly want? The city of music - celebrated by artists like Billy Joel and Ultravox - has inspired countless songs. But what is it about this city that compels so many artists to write music about it?

Vienna seems like the perfect city for everyone. Take a walk through the gardens of Belvedere Palace, soak in the view, and if you visit during the Christmas season, stroll around with a cozy mug of hot cocoa or mulled wine—whatever tickles your fancy. Or visit Schönbrunn Palace, explore its famous zoo, or wander through the palace’s sprawling gardens to immerse yourself in Vienna’s rich cultural sights.

The city center is a treasure trove of ornate facades and dramatic sculptures. Yet, hidden among these historical buildings are speakeasy-style bars where locals and tourists mingle over drinks. One such gem is Loos American Bar, which exudes a speakeasy vibe with its intimate Art Nouveau-inspired interior. Despite its cozy size, the bar never feels cramped, thanks to its elegant design. Quick-handed bartenders consistently deliver flawless cocktails, with drinks averaging €10–20 - an investment well worth the exceptional quality and unique experience.

At the heart of the city lies St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna’s architectural masterpiece. Its Gothic elegance is crowned by a colorful tiled roof, making it the city’s most iconic symbol. Just behind Graben, Vienna’s luxury shopping district, you’ll find the showstopping St. Peter’s Church. Modeled after St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, this Baroque triumph boasts a stunning frescoed dome featuring breathtaking artwork, including depictions of the Virgin Mary. Speaking of Graben, it’s Vienna’s street of luxury. Here, fashionistas will find everything they desire, from Chanel and Hermès to Cartier and Louis Vuitton. A lively atmosphere filled with street performers, locals, and tourists alike makes it a must-visit for anyone craving elegance and excitement.

During my trip to Vienna, I dined at several restaurants, but two stood out: Bao Bar and KitchA.

Bao Bar offers two bao buns for €9.90, with a variety of options for meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans alike. Choose from crispy chicken, kimchi chicken, pulled pork, classic tofu, or fancy tofu. Perfect for a quick lunch, you can opt for takeaway or dine in. With three locations across the city, Bao Bar serves up the best bao buns I’ve ever tasted - a must-try while exploring Vienna.

KitchA, on the other hand, is where sushi meets Mexican cuisine. Who wouldn’t want to try that? I chose the pulled salmon tacos and grilled chicken tacos, and I couldn’t have been happier. Upon arrival, we were treated to a glass of traditional sake white wine and made to feel like royalty. Not only was the food and service exceptional, but the aesthetic of the restaurant was stunning, easily one of the most picturesque dining experiences I’ve ever had.

So, honestly, what’s stopping you from booking those flights to Vienna?
