Met Gala 2025: Theme & Co-Chairs

Today is one of the most exciting days of the fashion year, the day that the next met gala theme and co-chair's get announced. But don't get too excited, this is only the exhibition theme, not the dress code that will be announced in January.

So what is the theme? And who are the lucky foursome, Anna wintour strategically picked out?

The theme for next year’s gala is: ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' inspired by 2009 book 'Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and The Styling of Black Diasporic Identity’ by Monica L. Miller.

So, now that we know the theme, who are Anna's co-chair's?

Editor in chief of ‘Vogue’ magazine, Anna Wintour chose Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, ASAP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams to co-chair the gala with her. Along with the usual 4 celebrity co-chair' and Anna, this year there will be a honorary chair, 'Lebron James’.

But what does being a co-chair mean? Co-chairs of the met gala are responsible for promoting the event and helping Anna Wintour plan the theme, dinner, and performances. This year is the first all male co-chair met gala, so be excited, we are in for a very unique, one of a kind gala.
